The Route
Thanks to Jim, the navigation genius, we have settled on our route. If The Hornet behaves we will pass through the following countries. (Of course we may visit several additional countries if we get lost.):
France
Belgium
Netherlands
Germany
Czech Republic
Slovakia
Ukraine
Russia
Kazakhstan
Uzbekistan
Kyrgyzstan
Kazakhstan (again)
Russia (again)
Mongolia
Our route includes burning deserts and towering mountains, the vastness of Mongolia and those pesky roadworks on the north side of the Dartford Tunnel. The roads will deteriorate considerably once we reach Eastern Europe (and Tower Hamlets) and disappear altogether in Kazakhstan and Mongolia. GPS is strictly forbidden because the rally organisers think that makes things too easy.
