The Hornet
The Hornet is a 1988 Citroen 2CV6 Special.
The vehicle decision was quite an easy one. What car has proven reliability, fantastic comfort and all round on road and off road capabilities? Unfortunately that car wasn't available, so now we have The Hornet instead – a car with a whole 602cc or raw, unbridled power; that's within the Mongol Rally rules with 398cc to spare!

The Hornet will have a few modifications such as a sump and fuel tank guard. However apart from that the car will remain as standard as possible to avoid creating any new problems (we've got quite enough as it is!). Fitting a 12v cigarette lighter socket may be the only mod to the interior. Keep it simple and travel light.
Presently The Hornet is undergoing 'The Shakedown' in London to iron out any potential problems.... like refusing to start... three times!
